{"id":316,"date":"2021-08-26T07:10:43","date_gmt":"2021-08-26T05:10:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nanakesewaadankwa.de\/blog\/?p=316"},"modified":"2021-08-26T07:10:45","modified_gmt":"2021-08-26T05:10:45","slug":"the-jar-of-dreams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanakesewaadankwa.de\/blog\/?p=316","title":{"rendered":"The jar of dreams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Once I sat by my window watching the passers-by.<\/p>\n<p>On the road, her presence made clear with each step the metallic shoes greeted the street with.<\/p>\n<p>She had a brown bundle tied to her back.<\/p>\n<p>Her brown copper hair, braided to her right side, refused to blend in with her colourful blue and green dress that flowed.<\/p>\n<p>She was new, unlike the attention she attracted.<\/p>\n<p>Her smile said she had been expecting this.<\/p>\n<p>I abandoned my home and followed her.<\/p>\n<p>I watched her take out all that her brown bundle beheld unto a mat on the floor of the town square.<\/p>\n<p>There was a jar.<\/p>\n<p>A transparent one that called for mine attention as well as the others too.<\/p>\n<p>The jar filled with rolled papers.<\/p>\n<p>She said it was made for the people who chose to dream. Each rolled coloured paper a dream.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone went for the yellows.<\/p>\n<p>I chose that too.<\/p>\n<p>But it itched, the moment it grazed my hands.<\/p>\n<p>I switched it to my pockets, and it poked.<\/p>\n<p>I found it do no such thing with the others.<\/p>\n<p>I asked her why and she said to change it.<\/p>\n<p>I refused.<\/p>\n<p>For it was what almost everyone had.<\/p>\n<p>No one seemed to complain.<\/p>\n<p>They were all so content, but me.<\/p>\n<p>Then my roll began to fade and fall apart, for which I fixed.<\/p>\n<p>I took it to the best, and they did their best.<\/p>\n<p>I held on, and yet it seemed it was not mine to have.<\/p>\n<p>It crumbled.<\/p>\n<p>So, I asked her why?<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cyou have a whole jar there, choose another\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She told me the dotted blue roll which none seemed to like could be mine if I chose it.<\/p>\n<p>I listened.<\/p>\n<p>The minute I touched the dotted blue roll, I knew it was mine.<\/p>\n<p>It felt so soft and so at home in my palms.<\/p>\n<p>It brought me to a smile no one could take away.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once I sat by my window watching the passers-by.
